Gunz The Duel Aeria Games
GunZ: The Duel is a widely known free 3D MMO shooter, featuring a third-person view and similar to games such as S4 League.
Back in the early days, the GunZ was hosted by NHN’s own North America portal, Ijji. The portal later closed down, and most of the game went under Aeria Games’ stable as part of a deal. Fast forward a couple of years, Aeria has just announced the closure of GunZ: The Duel. Most of the players are already waiting for the sequel, GunZ 2: The Second Duel, but so far there hasn’t been news for an official English server. Developer Maiet has placed the game on Steam Greenlight, perhaps in an effort to try and self-publish.
News Welcome back! As GunZ enters its 7th year for international players, the player count needs some improvement. Players with nostalgia are coming back to enjoy the game once again and with the hopes to help rejuvenate the playerbase. Those wishing to play again should check out the AeriaGames merger information, as ijji has been acquired by the company. There will be a full transfer this month (April 2012) or May.
