Ornette Coleman Change Of The Century Rar File

Another record from Coleman's peak, featuring his best track of all, 'Ramblin', an extremely funky tune with a great rhythmical drive that even works on the dancefloor; especially great for its wonderful bass solo by Charlie Haden, in my opinion the best bass solo in jazz ever (if you know better ones, let me know!), accompanied by Billy Higgins' excellent fresh and funky drumming. 'Una Muy Bonita', another hit on this record, is a catchy and melodious latin-like tune - not one of my favourites, but that's just my personal taste, it sure is a great track. The other tracks, I must admit, don't catch me; even 'The Face of the Bass', although I love Charlie Haden on bass in general, doesn't have it for me. Maybe it was also the sound of the record that did its part for the other tracks - I own the album on CD, where it sounds quite thin and lifeless, as CDs always tend to do. Can't destroy 'Ramblin', but damages the weaker tracks on it.
